The inspiration behind The Travel Obsessive compass logo
Coming up with a logo for your brand and vision is muuuch harder than it looks. I spent a good year thinking about my logo, and for the first 12 months the only logo I had was the TTO letters grouped together in it’s black background casing.
But I knew that this wasn’t reflective of the brand and community I had in mind, so I spent time thinking about not only what The Travel Obsessive stood for, but what had inspired the starting point for me. It was travel. I loved travel, from the moment I started planning my first solo trip overseas I was hooked. I couldnt’ stop researching, planning, daydreaming and learning about new places.
Once I got back I knew that travel was going to become a major part of my life. I couldnt go back. I was obsessed.
And that’s when it came to me, I wanted to create something that was for other obsessed lovers of travel just like me.
Other women who loved the process of mapping out adventures, travelling, exploring, of seeing new places and learning new things.
Once I connected with this, I realised I wanted to play on the tradition of what really grounds a traveller to keep coming back to this love, so I drew inspiration from the compass, a tool used by travellers all over the world for centuries passed, and I replaced the traditional North, South, East and West and replaced them with words that I felt connected the community I wanted to bring together and create.
And so The Travel Obsessive Logo was born.
